CLEAR CHANNEL SENDS ELECTRICO’S “WE SATELLITES”

INTO ORBIT

Rock to the sounds of Electrico at Clear Channel’s bus shelters this July!

In an exclusive agreement with undisputably, Singapore’s number 1 band, Clear Channel is proud to be the Official Outdoor Media Partner for the launch of the band’s third album “We Satellites”. Electrico’s album launch campaign will appear on a customised network of 12-sheet panels and Media Portals in strategic locations throughout the city. The sites in this customised network was modelled after the Youth and Business networks from Clear Channel’s Audience Solutions.

In response to Electrico’s brief to target the younger demographic and PMEBs, the Youth-centric sites are distributed in the natural habitat of this audience and they deliver the message to where they are. The coverage takes in educational institutions; as well as youth recreational hotspots. It is within the proximity of malls and present in and around food and beverage venues, from restaurants, bars, pubs to clubs. The Business-centric sites are present - not just in the places where PMEBs work; it addresses PMEBs’ lifestyle habits with its presence in and around lifestyle venues favoured by this audience.

Starting from 10th July 2008, the 3-week Clear Channel campaign ring-fence Electrico’s other promotional activities. These include a brand-new album launch website wesatellites.com, gigs at Zouk, Boiler Room, Butter Factory, *scape Youth Park, Home Club, Arts House and many other gigs. The out-of-home ads serve to remind and reinforce the launch message and prompt call-to-purchase. The band believes that Clear Channel’s media support will be enormously beneficial. Quoting Desmond Goh, bassist of Electrico, “I ride the bus all the time and I often pay attention to bus shelter advertisements. For a change, it would be pretty cool to see our own album on them!”.

Quipped Kelly Khoo, Clear Channel’s Marketing Director, ”We support local talent and we constantly look out for meaningful collaborations. With Electrico, we have a media platform which can help the band reach out to a larger audience base. Beyond the media support, this collaboration extends into other experiential activities which allow us to engage targeted communities. Plus, we are fans of Electrico. That can’t hurt.”

In the prelude to the launch of “We Satellites”, Electrico was engaged to perform at Clear Channel’s 7th Anniversary event at Zouk on 10th May 2008. The band offered the guests at the private party a sneak peak into “We Satellites” when they performed un-released tracks from the album. The crowd’s rapturous response is a sure indication of the positive feedback to come.
