ELECTRICO KICKSTARTS THEIR NEW ALBUM,"WE
SATELLITES" WITH A SERIES OF PERFORMANCES
As part of the launch for their new album, "We Satellites", Electrico will be performing a series of shows at various locations in Singapore. In a bid to unite local music, these shows will also include collaborations with various local artistes, as well as feature impromptu jamming sessions. Invited by various clubs and establishments, Singapore’s much sought after local band, Electrico, is set to kickoff a series of musical performances never seen before.
The following are details on each event:
11 July 10pm ZOUK
This marks the first leg of Electrico’s tour, which starts at Zouk, a constant supporter of the band over the years, Singapore’s best homegrown club. Hosted by Shan & Rozz of 987FM.
12 July 2pm HMV HEEREN
Electrico will have an exclusive autograph session at giant music superstore, HMV. This will be Electrico’s sole autograph session, which includes a “meet-and-greet” session with their fans. It is not an event to be missed as the band is also set to perform a few tracks from their new album at Heeren’s Fountain Stage. Free We Satellites to be given out! Hosted by Dan & Young from 987FM.
12 July 4pm WISMA ATRIA
Part of the MTV Asia Music Awards celebrations, catch Electrico as they rock out at Orchard Road!
17 July 10pm THE BOILER ROOM
This will be Electrico’s first appearance at The Boiler Room with guest artiste Shirlyn Tan featruring the UnXpected. Hosted by Power 98FM.
19 July 8pm FRONT LAWN, THE ARTS HOUSE
In a casual setting at the outdoor lawn area of The Arts House, Electrico will perform to the public in a unique and rare jamming session that includes their friends and other local bands. It promises to be a spontaneous night of fun as Electrico get together with Astreal, Lunarin, Force Vomit and Sherene’s Closet.
26 July 8PM REPUBLIC POLYTECHNIC
Catch Electrico as they headline the inaugural rock festival of Republic Polytechnic alongside many other local bands and musicians.
29 July 9pm ZOUK
The Singapore Music Awards is back and Electrico is nominated for the 3rd year as Best Singapore Band. Catch the finalists of Power Jam as they rock the house. Presented by Power 98FM.
2 August GENTING, KL
Electrico is nominated for a second time as Favourite Artist Singapore for MTV Asia Awards.
6 August 10PM THE BUTTER FACTORY
This fun club located at Robertson Quay is the chosen venue for the launch of Electrico’s new animated video, produced by Yolk.
9 August 9PM *SCAPE YOUTH PARK
As part of Youth Park’s 2008 National Day celebration, Electrico has been invited back to this youth hub located at Somerset Road. It will be a late night program and includes younger bands such as Allura, Firefight and Silhouette. Hosted by Soo of 987FM.
15 August 9PM HOME CLUB
Electrico pays homage to Home Club at The Riverside Walk by presenting an acoustic set with two other bands, B-Quartet and Plain Sunset. This will be a first of its kind as never before have such top-notch musicians come together to perform, in an unplugged session.
17 August 5PM CAFÉ DEL MAR
The last of We Satellites Tour, catch the band as the chill out at this beach club. In a comradely show of support for younger and emerging local talents, Electrico will feature Caracal, Singapore’s upcoming band known for their musical energy and creativity.
30 August 30th 9PM – ESPLANADE
Electrico returns to Baybeats, the biggest indie rock festival.
